Canada has won the eighth and final spot to the 2012 CONCACAF Futsal Championship. Canada won 7-6 on aggregate to eliminate El Salvador and qualify for the CONCACAF tournament. Canada qualified in dramatic fashion, going down and goal in the final minute before responding with two goals in the last 20 seconds.The 2012 CONCACAF Futsal Championship runs 2-8 July in Ciudad Guatemala. All matches will be played at the Domo Polideportivo. Group A features Canada, Guatemala, Panama and USA while Group B features Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico and St. Kitts and Nevis.
Canada lost 1:4 to El Salvador in the first leg on 28 June, also played at the Domo Polideportivo. Canada then won the second leg 6:2 on 29 June.
Canada now looks forward to facing host Guatemala in the CONCACAF opener on 2 July. Canada then faces USA on 3 July and Panama on 4 July. The top-two teams from the group will qualify for the FIFA Futsal World Cup Thailand 2012, which runs this 1-18 November.
